Start Making Sense
He is a UK based DJ, musician, radio broadcaster, producer and a journalist. He calls himself a renaissance man. His name is Chris Coco and if you are a fan of chillout house music this won't be the first time you've heard about this man. His radio show, Melodica, is growing from it’s online home on Mixcloud
and radio base on Ibiza Sonica to include broadcasts in cities from
Sydney to Istanbul to Chicago. In 2010 Melodica was shortlisted for a BT
Digital Music award for best radio show or podcast. The Guardian called
it “the hazy, lazy sound of the summer”. You can listen to the latest episode every week at www.mixcloud.com/chriscoco/.
Chris Coco's web site includes his own blog which stands as a platform for expressing his thoughts about life in general. From a journalist's aspect, he nourishes a holistic approach towards the work he does. On his blog you can find breathtaking but yet real photographs; as a writer Coco can be a rolemodel for every journalist, blogger or writer.
My own personal intention, when I create my posts, is to produce a honest and unique reading which will inspire or motivate a person to think about life and all those things which are important to the the body and soul of a human being. Music is always my first and foremost inspiration, photos follow the visual idea behind the thoughts just like a good music video makes a perfect partner for an audio track. Also, fashion somehow always finds it's way to infiltrate the whole story ... "We live in a visual culture" - says Chris Coco in one of his blog posts:

Music is always my first and foremost inspiration, photos follow the visual idea behind the thoughts just like a good music video makes a perfect partner for an audio track. Also, fashion somehow always finds it's way to infiltrate the whole story ... "We live in a visual culture" - says Chris Coco in one of his blog posts:
"I spend most of my work time listening to music, playing music to other
people, trying to make music or trying to get music I have made used for
various things, including advertisements. In the last couple of years I
have also spent a lot of time trying to work out why music doesn’t seem
to be as important as it used to be.
Now, I think that it is partly to do with the ease with which it can be acquired. A digital file that can be copied infinitely will ultimately have no value. When music was hard to find and had to be bought on a physical format it was much more something to be treasured. It was a rare commodity with a high value, and that high monetary value added to the emotional impact of the limited number of songs that you could listen to. When you found something that resonated with you, you listened to it again and again, from beginning to end.
It’s also because we live in a visual culture. Most of our interactions are on a screen and a screen, by definition, needs images. Sound is good too, but it’s not essential. Music is often an add-on to enhance the image rather than the end in it’s own right. Look at any serious review of Lady Gaga and it is likely to say – well, her music is gash electropop, but what about her image. Wow, she wears different clothes each time she goes out."

Having read this words you can understand that fashion became just a mean for selling a product. That's why I feel a bit discusted by fashion thesedays. Not by the fabrics, colors and shapes of the clothes but by people who ruin the philosophy behind fashion. Fashion is _____ a blankness, an emptiness, just a viod without it's own purpose. We should want to wear clothes because we like the clothes and not because we like the product called "Rihanna". Fashion should never be about copy pasting something.
Well, if I HAD to copy something, I would copy the scenary of a certain place - like Santorini - and transform and use that idea to inspire my styling ...

The following photos are taken from Chris Coco's blog. The pictures were taken by Coco himself and they represent alternative views of Santorini ... it's the less fancy but yet beautiful and casual side of the island.
I especially like the old locks on wooden doors.

This summer at Tisno, Croatia, from 2 - 6 August, "Stop Making Sense" Festival will be held.
Chris Coco will also be there playing daytime sets. The festival will be held on a ship which will be cruising the coast plus at the beaches. The event is promoted by an English team and is popular among young English tourists who love partying at the beautiful Croatian coast.
It's a must see, so see you there!

The Right Time
Upcoming summer is the right time, the perfect time for eliminating all those things that burden us.
Our every day should be breezy, light, fresh and happy just like a summer morning. Tom Novy's newest music video for the single "The Right Time" inspired me visually and musically. This well known German DJ and producer is definitely back on the clubbing scene with some interesting vocal colaborations.
Vera Bohnisch aka Veralovesmusic or L'enfant terrible (her 2nd artistic name) gave the vocal support for this single and I have to say she did a great job. The single was taken from Tom Novy's label compilation "Nouveau Niveau Vol. 2 -- Good Morning Bitches". Novy is the owner of his own record label Nouveau Niveau which reperesents different artists and compilations from the world of electronic music.

Fashionwise, in the music video for "The Right Time" Vera is wearing a summer maxi dress, which is ideal for breezy summer days. You can get inspired by different patterns and colors of maxi dresses here.
The creative idea behind this particular music video is so simple but yet so overwhelming and clear in it's message. I think it took this song to another level.

- Modna nota or Fashion note is a reflection of my personal thoughts about music, fashion and life. The inspiration for my posts comes from so many different aspects of life, but what I love the most is the expression of photography combined with music.
